Car seat

I love how I always turn to this blog for baby shopping tips.

Not really. But I'm going to do it again anyway.

Carter is almost too fat for his car seat and so he is getting a new one for Christmas. Any tips on what to look for next? Or where to find a smashing good deal?

Definitely check out the convertibles. We got the Evenflo Titan for Logan when he grew out of the infant carrier and I like it.

We also have the Cosco Scenera which is usually a screamin deal online or at Wal-Mart. It doesn't seem like it would be a great seat but it actually has great reviews and safety ratings. It isn't as padded so we use it as a spare for the truck. That's what Logan was in when we got rear-ended and I bought the exact same model with the insurance money to replace it.

If you go get one from the public health department, you can get the ones that work rear facing and forward facing. That's what we got Ayla when she grew out of her first one, and she is still in it. They aren't fancy- just a plain blue, but they are good ones and only cost around $30.

Okay, I just talked to my mother-in-law, and she said that the prices have been raised to $50 and you have to take a one time class. I think it is still cheaper, but there is the class... Anyway, hope it helps.
